What’s possible with NLP Modelling and what is the consequence of not learning it? – (Part 3/3)

What’s possible with NLP Modelling and what is the consequence of not learning it?

Reminder: Read the article in the voice of the person who inspires you. If you haven’t read part 1 of NLP Modelling series yet, you can read that here first.

The possibilities are infinite when it comes to NLP Modelling. There is so much you can do to fully enhance your personal and professional life. Here are 4 significant reasons why you should definitely focus your attention on NLP Modelling.

#1 - By learning NLP Modelling, you would learn the ‘how’ of human experience

NLP is about learning the structure of human experience. It is about understanding how the core of human experience works so that you can use that knowledge and experience to make powerful changes in yourself and others. That’s one of the most important skills you can have in today’s world.

#2 - Building your own models that work with your outcomes within your own context

Human experience is no one-size-fits-all model. Human experience is one of the most complex things to understand in the universe. You cannot have one model and use it for all the challenges and expect to get impactful results from it.

Through NLP modelling, you get to build models that fit with your outcomes. It could be for personal growth, coaching clients, professional growth, relationships, leadership & influencing or any area where you want to create impactful results for yourself.

#3 - Taking your coaching and NLP skills to the next level

Even when you are coaching, you are unconsciously modelling. The most incredible coaches are the ones who are successfully able to model out and identify with their client's problem state and transition them to their desired state. Working at the deeper structural level is what creates transformation. That’s possible only when you are an expert modeller of internal patterns and structure.

#4 - Modelling is the most natural way to learn anything faster!

You learn most things in life while modelling people around you. Think about how you might have learnt walking. There was no logic or reasoning in how you learnt to walk. You just fully observed what people around you were doing and naturally started replicating that for yourself. In the process, you made adjustments where necessary so that you are able to walk properly.

By allowing yourself to pay attention to the unconscious and deeper structures, you develop the ability to learn any behavior, habit, skill, belief much faster.

And what happens when you are not able to model effectively?

Here are some of the common challenges that people face when they are not able to model and rely too much on techniques.

  • When working with others, you are not able to bring powerful & impactful changes in the person
  • When you get confused about which model to use when presented with problem state
  • When you find yourself getting caught up in content & stories and find it difficult to recognize core patterns in others
  • You keep using various different tools but still find yourself in a stuck state
  • Theoretically you know everything in NLP but find it hard to apply it

And the list can go on.

Learning NLP modelling is most essential to take your NLP, coaching and in general your ability to relate to others to the next level.

This brings me back to the exercise you did when you started reading the first part of this series. The moment you shifted your internal voice to the voice of someone who really inspires you, I am sure the way you experienced this article would have changed. This is a very tiny experience of NLP Modelling.

Although the difference is that instead of you modelling this strategy out from someone else, I gave you this strategy to implement from my own experience of creating inspiration for myself.

I hope this gives you clarity about what NLP Modelling really is and why it should be the first thing on your priority list.

I would love to know your thoughts, observations and reflections. Share them with me in the comments section below.
